‘Cov Peeps’ was a commission for an ‘Artist on my Street’ project is a hoarding for the Families for All Hub in Coventry. The artwork is inspired by Coventry’s diversity and history. My idea is a take on ‘Peeping Tom’. This is a two-way observation, as one is looking at the artwork which is looking at you, hoping to add a layer of intrigue to the piece.
I held community workshops to create self-portraits which were incorporated in the final piece. This artwork was meant to be a temporary hoarding for a month, however due to its connection with the community, it is still there more than 2 years after.
